VIVA brings together adults who have a marriage project within the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri community. Access to the Service requires compliance with these guidelines and with the commitment signed at registration. A breach may result in a warning, restriction, suspension or permanent ban, depending on its seriousness and the risk.
1. Reserved for those aged 18 and over
You must be at least 18. It is prohibited to:
- create an Account if you are a minor;
- allow a minor to use your Account;
- create a profile in a minor’s name, or propose a minor in marriage;
- publish content that sexualises a minor;
- contact a minor for romantic, matrimonial or sexual purposes.
2. Be authentic
Use your own information and photos. At registration, you signed that you are the person your profile shows. The following are prohibited:
- fake profiles;
- impersonation;
- using other people’s photos;
- a fictitious identity used to deceive or harm;
- falsifying your age, marital status or any other profile information;
- a profile created for a third party without their agreement;
- multiple accounts, including to circumvent a sanction or the limits of the Service.
3. Come to get married
VIVA is not a dating app. You signed that you are seeking marriage, not passing the time. The following are prohibited:
- using the Service for casual relationships or entertainment;
- concealing an ongoing marital situation;
- keeping Conversations going without serious intent, at the expense of other members’ time and trust.
4. Respect and consent
Do not harass a person who does not wish to continue a Conversation, or who has declined an Interest. The following are prohibited:
- threats and intimidation;
- repeated insults;
- stalking, in the Application or elsewhere;
- pressure to obtain a meeting, a phone number, a photo or a reply;
- any sexualisation, solicitation or sexual content;
- re-contacting, through another channel, a person who has blocked or declined you.
5. No sexual content involving minors
VIVA applies zero tolerance to CSAM, grooming and any sexual exploitation of a child. Any such behaviour results in an immediate ban, the preservation of evidence and cooperation with the authorities in accordance with the law.
6. No hate or humiliation
Content or behaviour that attacks, threatens, dehumanises or calls for violence against a person or group on the basis of, in particular, a characteristic protected by law is prohibited.
Search criteria — religious practice, origins, situation, plans — are expressed through the Application’s filters and with respect. They justify neither the humiliation, nor the insult, nor the public disqualification of a person or a family.
7. No violence or threats
It is prohibited to:
- threaten to injure or kill a person;
- glorify a real assault on a User;
- publish a credible threat;
- use VIVA to plan an assault, kidnapping, extortion or crime.
VIVA may immediately suspend an Account where a serious risk is suspected.
8. No scams or financial solicitation
The following are prohibited:
- requests for money, on any pretext whatsoever;
- fake investments;
- loans offered as a condition of a relationship;
- payment fraud;
- phishing and credential theft;
- romance or matrimonial scams;
- blackmail or sextortion.
A Matchmaker never asks for money. A person presenting themselves as a Matchmaker and asking for money must be reported.
9. No prostitution, exploitation or trafficking
VIVA may not be used to organise, promote or facilitate:
- prostitution or escorting;
- sexual exploitation;
- human trafficking;
- forced marriage or coercive recruitment;
- illicit trafficking.
10. Respect privacy
It is prohibited to:
- publish a person’s private address without authorisation;
- share a third party’s identity document;
- disclose a private number or financial data to cause harm;
- publish private photos or messages without consent, including screenshots of Conversations;
- threaten to reveal a Conversation or private content to obtain an advantage;
- disclose to third parties, including within the Community, the information of a profile or a Conversation.
11. Intimate and pornographic content
All pornographic content, all intimate images and all content involving a minor are strictly prohibited, on the profile as well as in Conversations.
12. No spam or unauthorised commercial use
The following are prohibited without VIVA’s authorisation:
- advertising;
- commercial or organisational recruitment;
- the sale of products or services;
- affiliate links;
- pyramid schemes;
- lead collection;
- automated political or religious solicitation.
13. No technical manipulation
It is prohibited to:
- collect profiles by automated means;
- use unauthorised bots or scripts;
- circumvent the limits of the Service (number of Suggestions, of Interests);
- test or exploit a vulnerability without authorisation;
- introduce malicious software;
- attempt to access another person’s Account;
- falsify technical data to circumvent a sanction.
14. Report dangerous behaviour
Report immediately:
- an Account that appears to belong to a minor;
- a threat;
- a scam or a request for money;
- harassment;
- an assault;
- a fake profile, or a profile with no marriage project within the Community;
- sexual content;
- any behaviour contrary to these guidelines.
Reports are made in the Application, on the profile or in the Conversation, or to contact@viva-khoja.com. The reported person is not informed of your identity.
15. Moderation and sanctions
VIVA may take the following measures in particular:
- warning;
- removal of content;
- restriction of a feature;
- suspension;
- additional verification;
- permanent ban;
- cooperation with the authorities where the law requires or permits it.
The sanction depends in particular on the seriousness, the repetition, the context, the credibility of the report and the risk to others. VIVA is not required to disclose all of its detection methods where such disclosure could facilitate their circumvention.
16. Off-platform safety
Dangerous behaviour committed after a conversation has left VIVA may lead to a sanction against the Account where it is sufficiently linked to the use of the Service and demonstrates a risk to the community. Moving a conversation to another service does not authorise behaviour prohibited by these guidelines.
17. Challenging a measure
The User may request a review of a moderation decision by writing to contact@viva-khoja.com. The request must be made in good faith and does not automatically suspend a measure taken to protect the safety of others.
18. General rule
If a behaviour is not expressly listed but is manifestly fraudulent, dangerous, abusive, illegal or contrary to the matrimonial and community purpose of the Service, VIVA may take the measures reasonably necessary to protect the Service and its Users.
